country vision

Vision of paper and rhetoric

If you visit the website of any political party or leader, I assure you that you will find a huge “word soup” and promises that describe the vision and plan for the country that they promise to implement once they come to power.

Unfortunately, politicians have taken much advantage of that broken record. All well premeditated and with a single purpose: to try to fish for votes. But behind those vague promises lies a sad reality. That famous vision of the country remained where it was born: on a piece of paper and in the rhetoric of the demagogic political leaders.

On the other hand, history repeats itself. We are still a third world country, we are still a country with a large number of people living in extreme poverty, we are still a deeply corrupt country, we are still an insecure country, we are still a country that only produces failure and hardship, and now we are a country in total ruin and anarchy.

Now, before entering fully into the subject, the first thing we should ask ourselves is: who are we? What is our purpose in this life? How do we want to be remembered or seen?

The reason for those three questions is that only we, the Venezuelans, are the ones in control of creating a country according to our own ambitions and aspirations. Our future and the Venezuela where we want to live depend on us.

my country vision

My vision of the country is to live in a truly free, prosperous and democratic Venezuela, where its citizens can live together in peace and harmony. A country where we celebrate collective and individual freedoms.

I dream of a Venezuela with a mixed market economy, where private property is guaranteed and where people and companies have the freedom to move their resources inside and outside the country.

I dream of a country where crime, embezzlement, greed, inefficiency and corruption are replaced by social and economic justice, strong foreign investment, decent and dignified work, prosperity and National proud.

I dream of a highly educated Venezuela that produces its own knowledge. With a Venezuela where our men and women earn competitive salaries and, at the end of their long working career, have the opportunity to retire, receive their pension and live the rest of their days comfortably and with dignity.

I dream of a Venezuela where its citizens respect and are proud of the political system; where a politician is a reflection of pride, trust, honesty, integrity and training. I dream of a political system without any type of manipulation or ideological distractions, without ideologies of the right, left or military tendency, but one whose focus is to sow prosperity, well-being and peace within and outside its borders.

I dream of a Venezuela of respectful people, where the contribution of older workers is valued and where they are the ones who guide and pass the baton to the new generation of workers.

I dream of a country where children's rights are not only respected, but also invested in their education so that they develop their self-esteem from an early age, and thus begin to train our leaders of tomorrow.

I dream of a country where wealth obtained through honest work is valued, but where family, ethics and honor are also valued even more.

I dream of a country with autonomous government entities, where important decisions to solve social problems are made at the local level and centralism is left aside.

I dream of a Venezuela that is recognized for its advanced and sophisticated primary, secondary and tertiary sectors. And not a country that only produces oil and whose resources are managed by gangsters, criminals and corrupt.

I dream of a country that attracts foreign investment and not a country that attracts unscrupulous opportunists whose sole purpose is to ally with our political leaders to defraud and steal our resources.

I dream of a Venezuela where part of the resources from oil revenues are used to invest in what I call "the three innovations." These are:

  1. Innovation in the manufacturing industry to achieve competitive advantage through massive and sustainable production.

  2. Tourism innovation to be able to reach the masses and promote our culture and everything that Venezuela can offer.

  3. Agricultural innovation with the ability to satisfy our market, and thus recover our food security and also be able to export to other countries.

All this translates into higher foreign exchange earnings and independence from hydrocarbons.

I dream of a Venezuela with a well managed and directed mining and oil industry; with modern and advanced operating processes that allow sustainable and profitable growth; with companies with a trained staff that reward their employees for a job well done. I dream of a mining and oil industry that has a well-defined mission and vision and clear objectives to achieve it. I dream of a mining and oil industry that is not owned by its administrators or politicians, but by all Venezuelans.

I dream of a well-paid, trained and equipped Armed Forces; to exercise its obligations within a framework of civil and democratic control. Also, it is of equal importance to create a stable political, social and economic system of which they can be a part. In other words, we cannot create a country in total anarchy and put our Armed Forces in the middle to solve all our problems.

Lastly, I dream of a Venezuela with a gigantic and thriving economy; a Venezuela of opportunities, so that no Venezuelan child goes to bed hungry.

It will not be easy, but with a clear vision of where we are going and a lot of determination to defeat all kinds of resistance to progress, I am more than sure that we will achieve it.

Also, Venezuelans are made of a different fiber. The Venezuelan was born to be successful, and we are going to be successful; And that's a promise I make from my heart. God bless my country.

My most sincere and profound thanks to all my readers.
