Renewal in the teaching and learning process with a focus on a high-impact culture

The secret sauce of the success of developed countries

It is the responsibility of all countries to create their own knowledge. The difference between a third world country and a developed one depends, in large part, on the level of education of its workforce.

In order for Venezuela to be able to achieve its business or organizational objectives in a given time – to achieve wealth that is sustainable over time, to make the leap from a third world country to a developed one, and finally to be able to design and execute a self-sufficient plan that only covers two areas: food and water that guarantees food sovereignty to reduce our independence from other countries, it is necessary to improve the intellectual capital of its citizens. That is the only alternative and the secret sauce of the success of the advanced countries.

So much so that the shared prosperity and wealth of a country depend not only on investors or its natural resources, but on the ability of its workforce to generate sources of prosperity and transform the country's resources into wealth and sustainable economic well-being. in the time.

One of my favorite authors, Michael Porter, says, "National prosperity is created, not inherited." In addition, this professor argues that, for a nation to achieve a competitive advantage, it has to do so through innovation and the improvement of its industries. It also points out that these benefit from strong national competition from aggressive suppliers and from a demanding local clientele.

That is exactly what our country, Venezuela, needs: a high-performance culture capable of innovating and improving the productive engines of our economy. And in this way, being able to transform simple ideas into products and services of excellent quality.

This will give us a strong competitive advantage. For example, we may:

  • Beat our competitors and distinguish ourselves from them.

  • Prevent our rivals from copying the intellectual capital of Venezuelans, as it is an intangible resource.

  • Produce in a chain and in large quantities to meet national demand and, at the same time, increase our exports.

  • Compete and win in the international market. In other words, gain a competitive advantage in the global marketplace.

  • Save time and money in the recovery and development of our economy.

  • More accurately forecast the risks associated with investments.

  • Accurately allocate the necessary resources to each project.

  • Obtain a better projection of profitability.

Those are some of the benefits that a high performance culture can generate for our country, Venezuela.

However, in order to achieve a high-impact culture, it is necessary to renew the teaching and learning process in our country, Venezuela.

It is no secret that we live in a world in constant change, and it is one of the reasons why education is not static. On the other hand, we must bear in mind that the new generation is in charge of the social construction of our country, Venezuela. So, it is logical to think that it is the absolute responsibility of the State to guarantee school autonomy and the financing of a new educational system, with the idea of completely transforming the figure of the Venezuelan student. A new educational system is needed:

  • Where our students visualize their future and professional life beyond the classroom, a house of study or a university degree.

  • To teach our young people new and better study techniques so that they can combine academic performance with personal development.

  • That not only teach our young people to pass an exam, but to learn life skills.

  • That trains autonomous students, capable of identifying, analyzing and solving problems with an entrepreneurial spirit.

  • That the role of the student in the houses of study completely change so that they can have the freedom, knowledge and self-confidence to self-regulate their learning.

  • That generates an atmosphere where the student's self-esteem, creativity and autonomy are promoted.

  • Where the teacher is divorced from the traditional teaching model or from his role as the "center" of the classroom and becomes a facilitator of learning, with the idea of favoring the needs of the student.

  • Make it much more flexible and include those with learning difficulties.

  • That does not intimidate the learner and that recognizes the strengths and weaknesses of each student in order to help them identify the areas in which they can stand out or excel.

  • Finally, a safe, comfortable and attractive educational system that generates confidence, in which our young people get up from their beds with the desire to go to their study houses to explore and learn how the world works.

Once our young people have been trained in the new teaching and learning system, they will be able to insert themselves into our vibrant economy, full of new professions and opportunities.

In addition, this transformation will create a disciplined, competent and demanding culture; a culture that demands better products and services, that offers better wages, a better health and education system, better infrastructure, better political leaders and a better standard of living.

One of the reasons why Venezuela is submerged in the current crisis is because in our country there is no demanding culture, much less true leadership.

In conclusion, if we want to turn Venezuela into a prosperous, modern, safe and advanced country, it is the State's obligation to transform our workforce through a new educational system. An advanced country cannot exist without an advanced education system.

My most sincere and profound thanks to all my readers.
